I’m so excited to tell you about the life-changing things we’re doing at our mountain getaway in the middle of Iacobeni, Romania. After all, what’s a retreat without the peace and balance of connecting with Mother Earth? Make yourself a cup of your favourite green tea and begin reading!
Renewable energy is what keeps our retreat going.
Solar panels were bought so that we can use the sun’s energy. This gives our getaway a warm glow all year. The energy these solar panels give off powers everything, from the soft lighting in your cosy cabins to the cooking appliances that make your healthy, organic food. We’re also trying to add a wind energy system.
Remember that every drop of water matters.
The nectar of life is water. Our getaway is built around water, from the nearby waterfalls to the peaceful ponds surrounding us. A greywater recycling system at our building treats and cleans wastewater for gardens and other non-potable needs. Low-flow taps and showerheads are also great because they save water without sacrificing comfort.
Taking care of trash: A full circle
Because we’re well aware of the trash that people can make, we’re not here to add to the problem. Our simple plan for dealing with garbage is to cut down, reuse, and recycle. Products that break down naturally are preferred over single-use plastics. Organic waste is turned into compost used in our lush fields.
The diet of choice is organic and locally grown food.
Oh, food—the thing that keeps the body and soul healthy. Our dishes are made with organic food that comes from nearby farms. You’re eating delicious plant-based foods that are also good for the Earth in their small ways.
Mindfulness: The Way to Making Smart Decisions
Additionally, our eco-friendly values are shared by our yoga and mindfulness practices. Materials that last and are suitable practices for the environment are used to make our yoga mats and blocks.
An Area That Cares
Last but not least, many people who visit become part of a society that wants to live in an eco-friendly way.
The mountain hideaway in Iacobeni, Romania, is more than just a place to relax. We choose to take better care of this beautiful world we call home.
